    Do this test first
Stop any probiotics 4 days prior to doing test
Collect Mon-Thurs to avoid the weekend

For the requisition you will need to complete your demographics/patient info and date of collection, do not fill out the insurance or credit card information because if you have the test you have already paid for it.

Write your name, DOB, and date of collection on the specimen bottle prior to collection

You will need to collect stool on white tray

Once you have the sample, you will use the scooper in the specimen bottle to put the sample into the specimen bottle. You need to make sure you collect from 4 different areas of the stool and not just one area. When you see the red fluid rise to the red line on the bottle you have added enough

Shake bottle vigorously, place in biohazard bag, along with requisition, then place it back in the box, and ship off via FedEx

You can either call FedEx for a pick up or you can drop it off at a FedEx location. If you drop it off, be sure to drop it off before 4pm.

When you receive the kit, you do not need to open it. Just bring it in with you to your lab draw appointment along with your urine. There are different tubes in there that we will process in the office to make it less confusing for you.

You will need to stop all supplements 4 days prior to lab draw

You will need to limit your fluid intake to <48oz, 24 hours before the collection

You will need to fast overnight. You can drink more water once you have collected your urine sample. The lab needs your urine to be as concentrated as possible. Diluted urine can results in rejection and you will need to recollect.

The only step I will need you to follow on the instruction sheet  is Step 1.- Under COLLECT URINE

You will collect your first morning urine in the cup I provide. If you wake up in the middle of the night within 6 hours of your usual wake up time, then you will collect that urine, refrigerate it, and then collect the first morning urine all in the same cup.

We will take care of the processing in our office
